TIGER SAFARI IN PENCH TOUR

04 NIGHTS / 05 DAYS

The Jungle Book comes to life at Pench National Park. This significant reserve is located in the Seoni area, formerly Seonee, where Mowgli was born, and is just over 2.5 hours from Nagpur City.

Pench is currently gradually reclaiming its standing as one of the best tiger reserves for a tiger safari in India by creating corridors for tiger mobility between Kanha National Park, Nagzira, and Bor Wildlife Sanctuary.

Although the majority of the reserve is in and around Madhya Pradesh, it spans an area of 2000 sq km in both the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The 400 sq. km. Pench Maharashtra core region has gained prominence as a result of the ground-breaking BBC documentary “Tiger: Spy in the Jungle,” in which elephants were trained to capture close-up shots of a dominant tigress and her four offspring from birth to adulthood. The technology used was cutting edge, and the plot was expertly weaved.

One of the highest numbers of spotted deer in India may be found in Pench, and other creatures like the Indian Leopard and the Dhol or Indian Wild Dog coexist there without endangering the area’s 80 or so wild tigers. With sweeping grasslands currently as far as the eye can reach, among the gently sloping hills that are stunning right after the monsoons, there is evidence of big settlements that have been relocated to restore the grasslands.

An abundant tiger population is a sign of a healthy forest as tigers are at the top of the food chain. Predators have regulated the numbers of other species throughout evolution; carnivores like tigers are responsible for controlling the population of herbivores. In turn, because of this “feedback mechanism,” populations can only fluctuate within specified bounds.

As long as people don’t overuse the forest’s vegetation, which has herbivore numbers under check but not depleted, it should survive. Overgrazing pressure won’t stop seeds from being spread by new growth. Rainwater is shielded by healthy vegetation, which also preserves the water table. Many forests serve as significant river catchment areas, which are essential to the survival of numerous species, including humans.

Top-of-the-food-chain species are typically bigger and need more room than other animals, especially if they are territorial. By preserving such species in the wild, we can conserve vital ecological processes like water and nutrient cycling as well as the habitats of many other animals. As a result, the tiger is the protector of numerous other animals.
